Citysol: Fun in the Sun
Article Header Image

On Saturday, Etsy's Tim and Alison ventured to the shore of the East River to check out the Citysol 2007 solar-powered music festival. (Les Savy Fav is pictured above, thanks to Forklift on Flickr!) In addition to the stage, there was a puzzle-piece looking "beer dome" where you could change your Con Edison energy plan to a green-friendly alternative, and get free Brooklyn Brewery beer for doing so.

In addition to the many music acts that performed via solar power, there was also a Green Marketplace with many varied vendors and organizations spreading the good word about going green, including the Peace Corps, paper arts vendors, Solar One representatives, and a biodiesel booth with tricked out Rascals and kiddie wheels.

All in all, it was a great festival! Check out the interviews with Melissa of Solar One and Debbie of Resourceful Design.

P.S. The guy pumping his fist with the mask on stage? Dj OCDJ, who is rad, btw!
