Etsy has had quite a growth spurt in the past year, and we have the awkward pictures to prove it. We are posting a series of About Us pieces to help you get to know the Etsy admin (and since many of us work remotely, for the admin to get to know each other!). Some of the Etsy admin are new hires, and some have been working at Etsy from the start, or they're somewhere in between. You've seen the admin badge, and maybe you're a bit curious about the person behind it! As a fairly recent new hire, Lakin aka lakinwecker remains a bit of a mysterious persona.  We definitely know he likes coffee. He's also pretty elusive and camera shy.  He lives in the far hinterlands aka the Northernland of Canada: Calgary, specifically.  Considering that his baby picture shows him astride a camel whilst his whole family treks through sandy Desertlands, I have a very exotic impression of him.  I also know that he loves his wife very much and he's sporty. He used to do that crazy ski jumping that you see in the Olympics.

His older sister is an Etsy seller with two shops: loopsdesigns and twizzledesigns, and his younger sister is labellepoubelle. "My older sister and I found the site independently days apart, and I called her to tell her that she should switch from Ebay to Etsy and she was like: 'I've already signed up and am starting to use it!'" It's a wonderful family affair.

He's a really sweet guy and we're happy to have him here at Etsy, where he works on the Engineering Team!

Lakin, oh Lakin. Looks like you had an awesome time at prom.
