Etsy has had quite a growth spurt in the past year, and we have the awkward pictures to prove it. We've been posting a series of About Us pieces to help you get to know the Etsy admin (and since many of us work remotely, for the admin to get to know each other!). You've seen the admin badge, and maybe you're a bit curious about the person behind it! For more on Etsy's mission and about the company, please see our About page (the link is in the little blue footer of every Etsy page).
Mary steps up as our next installment of the About Us series. Mary works as our Community Advocate and spends a lot of time in the forums. She uses the admin username MaryMary and you can email community@etsy.com if you have any suggestions for making Etsyland a better place to be. You can also often find her in the Virtual Labs, critiquing (in such a friendly way!) Etsy shops and doing how-tos via webcam. Mary is one of the original Richmond, VA Etsians and she's proud of it! She's an awesome member of the Etsy Team and bring such valuable insight into the experience of being an Etsy seller. Mary still sells her jewelry and other items through her shop contrary.
Here's tween Mary, spazzing out in the snow. And a more pensive toddler Mary, reading the newspaper.
Don't you love when they break out the naked baby pictures? The tooth necklace is fabulous! Any suggestions for when your favorites list begins to explode and you cannot check every single store every day for new items and still get all your work done. This is a serious issue I am struggling with....
I really want to tease Mary about claiming to be "the nicest one here" ... but it's pretty much true! She should probably add that she's not the most modest one though. ;p
Mary works so hard - she's really the best person in the WORLD to be Etsy's Community Advocate. She really made me feel so at home when I was a seller on Etsy and again when I joined the admin team.
Love you, Mary, you make Etsy a better place every single day.
Sorry to be such a cheeseball. Lets end this with :
