Perhaps not sooo surprisingly, the first installment in the Etsy Cooperative Advertising Program sold out. What did surprise everyone (or at least a few of us), was that it sold out in 6.82 seconds! Amazing. What this tells us is that there is quite a demand for this program so far, and we think that demand will be high for the others as well.
With that serving as an introduction, I would also like to mention that the next ad coming up will be in Craft magazine. The spots will go on sale via the Showcase Gateway next Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 *update* Thursday, February 21st, 2008 at 3PM (EST). There will be 36 spots available in our two-page spread at a price of $50 each. Check back in the next few days for the complete details.
Congrats to everyone who snagged a spot, and thank you clevergirl for the title of this article.

I asked in the forums, but no answer, is Ready Made still in the works?
Thanks,

I agree PoPKO...it would be nice to know in advance for those of us who aren't in the position to buy into every spot...*H*

Makes me not feel so bummed about not being around a computer at the right time!
And,
what PoPko said, please!

I tried to get a spot-- it popped up, and I was like a half a second too late! Bummer :)... This is very exciting!

I was upset that I had to be in a meeting when ad spots went on sale...but considering they sold out so quickly I probably didn't have a chance to get one anyway. I'm looking forward to more opportunities to advertise though and would also like to see a list of rates for each magazine in the future so I can plan ahead.

Would love to see a list of options as far as advertising goes.
I know I can't do this coming up one, but oh how I wish I could! Payday just hits on the wrong date. -_- Knowing ahead of time makes it easier.
Soooo yeah, what PoPkO said ^-~
*But I really think its great that you guys are setting up these ads!

[Crossing fingers that I manage to snag one of these spots!]

Can I be bold and suggest a lottery system? Could address timezone/ability to be at a computer/6.82 second issues...
If all the folks who want an add spot sign up within a 24 hour period, then the etsy data genies can randomize the list and automatically pick 36.
Thanks for listening.

More More More More! lol.
thanks guys- i know it's hard work but it feels like I've been waiting for this kind of program here for years... *wink*

Perhaps a lottery system would be nice?

HOly cow. Sounds like etsy needs a media department for both buying ad space and selling the partions to etsy sellers. There certainly is interest! But that sounds so... corporate. Still, I know people like that from my past life in the advertising world. Let me know if you need resources.

Hey everybody! Thanks for your comments, we hear them all. Please remember that this program is in its early stages still and that we will work out the kinks over time. At present, we're doing the best we can.

Is it feasible to contact most (or all would be better lol!) of the women's/home & garden magazine/journals out there?? When this type of ad sells out so quickly, it certainly shows the high demand for this type of advertising.
Also, how about some Canadian publications? May I search some out for you and send you the info?

thats FAST! I would like to know about future ad ops all at once, so that perhaps I could weigh the options before purchasing any spots. Like, say, Etsy knows that the craft spread will be $50 and the BUST will be $90, please tell us so that we can choose. Im sure you know about more as well, and it would be appreciated to tell us up front. Comparison shopping is helpful.
