Dear Sellers,
UPDATE: We've confirmed the ads for a group of wedding blogs in the "Martha Circle" — Brooklyn Bride, DIY Bride
Style Me Pretty, The Bridal Bar (Blog), With This Ring...
I put out a call to action — Handmade Weddings: How Sellers can get Involved — and I'm bolstered by all your enthusiastic comments! Many of you wanted to know more details about how the series will be promoted, who will be involved, and the timing. While timing is still vague (it's set to go live with the launch of Alchemy), rest assured it is soon!
Today, I'm excited to announce that we are confirmed for "Etsy Handmade Weddings" ads running on these venues for a month:
Wedding Bee
Decor8
design*sponge
Poppytalk
Indie Fixx
...and possibly a circle of blogs that sell ad space through a Martha Stewart service (we'll keep you posted on this one).
And here's a sneak run-down of the talented guest bloggers who will be participating in the Handmade Wedding Series:
Style Me Pretty "Inspiration boards & brainstorming"
DIY Bride "Dispelling DIY Myths"
design*sponge "Homegoods & Registries"
Sweet Sassafras "Vintage Style"
Portovert "Eco-DIY"
CityDirt "Eco-flowers and using plants"
Indie Fixx "Straying from the Mainstream"
EtsyWedding.blogspot.com "Etsy picks"
BurdaStyle "Open-source patterns for Gowns"
Poppytalk "Invitations & Papergoods"
Cupcake blog "Dessert!"
Stitch Lounge "DIY Wedding dresses"
Decor8 "Decorations"
Posh Girl Vintage contributing to a piece on Gowns
VintageIndie and Eco-chic weddings (crossposting with March Wedding Month & their Indie Wedding Guide)
Babeland "Bachelorette Parties"
GreenUnion "Grooming"
CRAFT magazine "DIY Ideas"
JunebugWeddings.com "Accessories"
And Angel from WeddingBee
Sellers, please read this post — Handmade Weddings: How Sellers can get Involved — and let's all work to make Etsy the go-to marketplace for brides-to-be who buy handmade and support indie artists and crafters!

This is a great idea, congratulations to all of the upcoming brides-to-be!
Subcategories in the Favors section would be helpful, such as edible, home decor, wearable, bath & body, etc.
Also, I worked for a wedding planner here in Chicago for a couple of years. While spring and summer continue to be popular wedding months, most of our brides loved the idea of fall weddings! In fact, October and November were booked solid with several events per weekend. Maybe this is something that could continue into September. Just a thought :)

I'm hoping to see something about alternatives to floral bouquets, since I offer a crystal/wire bouquet package in my shop. They're perfect for a winter wedding.

it would be so amazing if you could have an on etsy wedding list! I want one. I rarely do wedding stuff (except for my friends) but its such a special time for people, yay for highlighting it.

i'm very excited for this as I was a September bride and am now currently selling altered tin favors & mini scrapbooks for bridal party gifts.

this is great! What a wonderful idea. If there's any need for jewelry please check out my site, and if you need more contributors I'd be happy to assist.

Just recently I posted some items for sale here, Wedding Planning packages (: I've helped several girls here in my hometown with wedding planning and given them tons of ideas on how to save money and do things themselves. My last wedding reception decorations only cost us $75!
I'll have to check out all the links here! Thanks for posting this!!

One more thing Vanessa: we have published a small video on how a letterpress wedding invitation is created. This will be very informative to those who don't know much about the letterpress process. I find it really helps to see it in action. Here's the link:

I am surprised there is no mention of The Knot. That is THE website I think of when I hear "wedding". It would be a great place to advertise.

I think it is a great idea!! I loved making the towel cake it was fun!!! Buying from stores are so commercial. Buying on this site adds more of a personal touch. Great Job!!!
