Our Beloved Postal Service Gets a Bit More Pricey

We, my US-based sellers, must start saving our pennies. The US Postal Service has announced that the first-class stamp price will go up by one cent on May 12, 2008. It will be a whopping 42 cents.

Read all about it in the New York Times.
"The price of the Forever stamp will go up at the same time, meaning those stamps can still be purchased for 41 cents but will remain good for first-class postage after the rate increase takes effect."
I suppose we shouldn't be too bummed, since the postal system is just about the coolest invention ever.

you guys (those residing in the US) are lucky....our (Canadian) stamps have been going up consistantly for the past few years - with this year, being the first time in a while that they haven't. We're at 50-something now per letter domestic :(

jellybeans, I was just going to comment the same thing - but I think our rates did go up this year? I think I paid .53 instead of .52 last week when I went to buy stamps:0(

Count your blessings - in the Uk a first class stamp is 34p which is 66cents. Wouldn't be so bad if it did actually get there the next day but...

ps I bought one of those bracelets above last week, it's absolutely gorgeous, definitely worth a look.

Sallyent - just what I was going to say! Everything in the UK is more expensive than anywhere else (sorry thats a huge generalisation! but what it feels like sometimes), take pity upon us!

OH and Ergane's lovely orange dot flowers above - i've got that stamp too! Its a cool one. :D

There will be more rate changes than just the first class stamp. They just aren't announcing them all until March.

Be ready to edit all your items to fix your shipping prices, AGAIN!
