Got something you wanna stash?  Need a great hiding place for your holiday spirits or secret wad of cash?  Well we have come to your rescue once again and are pleased to offer you all an online webcam tutorial with Kristen Yount of Urbana.etsy.com all about how to make your very own stash book!  Fool all your family and friends and make them think you are reading when you are really just disguising your ipod or other hideable possessions! 

Here are the supplies you'll need to buy ahead of time if you'd like to follow along during the tutorial:

• One old book
• White glue
• Utility knife and extra blades
• Gesso, black or white
• Collage ideas

Here's what Kristen has to say about stash books: "My stash books are more like altered books. The word 'altered'—when relating to craft—has to do with the manipulation of a medium. When I alter the book, by cutting out its contents and filling it with my own messages, it makes a statement. For example, original creators of the book 'Proof' by Dick Francis ventured to create a salacious tale of murder and betrayal. In cutting out the story and leaving the word 'proof' on the spine I have challenged the original concept of this book, and in doing so have created an opportunity to contribute to the conversation. Will the buyer of this book use it to hold drunken naked pictures of his 'date'? The conversion in complete when it is in yet the third party's hands.  I won't go into why someone would spend their time reading a mystery story about drugging racehorses too much, or novels in general except that reading novels is an escape. Many people use other devices to distract themselves from their maladies. Here is a place to stash those panties stolen from your ex lover, or the key you used to key his car, or the movie ticket stub from the night you cried alone when it was over in the dark. It is likely the buyer of this book will be able to supply to the overall intent of this project, a final note in the refrain."
