COLOURlovers.com is one of those websites that, upon first click, made me feel a vertiginous opening wide of the doors onto a whole new dimension. I found this site through designer Samantha Hahn's post about using the Etsy Colors feature. Folks, if you're seriously into color, you should check out this website:
COLOURlovers™ is a resource that monitors and influences color trends. COLOURlovers gives the people who use color - whether for ad campaigns, product design, or even in architectural specification - a place to check out a world of color, compare color palettes, submit news and comments, and read color related articles and interviews.I'm not exactly sure what's going on here, but if you are one of those people — like Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind — who wants a job coming up with crazy names for colors, then this website is for you. If you know how to create hypnotic patterns or just enjoy collecting them, check it out. If you notice trends in colors coming in waves each season, you need to get on this! I imagine this site is most often used by decorators and designers, fashion trendspotters, and other creative types. Let me know if there are good uses for Etsy sellers in the comments below!
Here are some other Storque posts about color.

One of the uses for it is for coming up with nice color combinations! Whether it's for using it on your pieces (Colors of stones to use in my jewelry, of yarns for that new scarf, etc, etc) or for taking your pics! You can see what colors go well and contrast with others so you can use them as backgrounds for your pics.

Oh, background pic colors! Great idea, cabisuteria!
I was thinking it would be useful for creating your banner and avatar images. They can be tied to your product colors, and the background photo colors too!

wow, this is amazing, i've never seen this before, usually i'm too busy crafting to look for cool stuff!
but this could really be a useful tool, especially for people like me who L-O-V-E color, but can't put them TOGETHER to save my life! i spin yarn, and have just gotten serious about dyeing my own fibers, so this could prove to be an INVALUABLE tool for me!
thanks for the amazing heads up!

Yes, I fell in love with colourlovers too. It's fun to blog for them. You all need to try to make your own color palette too.
