Science of Sleep: Like an Acid Trip without the Acid
Article Header Image

The Science of Sleep chronicles the trials and tribulations of Stéphane (Gael Garcia Bernal), a sensitive young man with an overactive imagination. When Stéphane's dreams begin to merge with his waking life, many awkward situations arise.

It's definitely quirky and weird, but also sweet and romantic. The movie has striking and memorable visuals (eye candy, for sure!) and beautiful art direction. The surreal dream sequences were fun to watch as the audience delves into Stéphane's psyche. However, the film lacks a cohesive storyline and the ending feels unresolved. If you're looking for something with more of a plot, this may not be the film for you. It's no Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
