Photo by Design Sponge's Sneak Peak at Lisa Congdon's Kitchen |
I was inspired by this Design*Sponge Sneak Peek of LisaCongdon's kitchen, to show you, dear reader, how to create such a lovely spot in your home! Lisa is an Etsy seller (see her shop here) with a fabulous collection of vintage pyrex and enamelware with a gorgeous plate wall. Want a kitchen as mod and bright as hers? You're in the right place.
First you need a glorious collection of vintage mod, pyrex and enamelware! You can find great pieces right here on Etsy in the Vintage section.

Next, a plate wall! I had this thought for my own apartment, and seeing it here confirms this is a FANTASTIC idea! Here's what my plate wall might consist of:

A few modern touches ...

... and you're on the road to a kitchen Brigitte Bardot might bat her eyelashes in. I couldn't stop finding beautiful items I want for my own space, so have a look at the related items below for more inspiration!

Great stuff! I love that vintage green tray, and the photo with all the plates hanging on the wall is awesome!
In my kitchen, I have a collection of psychedelic vintage mugs hanging from coffee cup hooks that are screwed into the ceiling in a swirly pattern. I have a picture on my blog here: http://eyepopart.blogspot.com/2007/06...

Awe, all this groovy stuff makes me miss the mod kitchen I used to have. I will have to start collecting again. So glad Etsy allows vintage selling :)

Great stuff! Plates sure are a fun and easy way to change up a room. And how great is vintage Pyrex!! LOVE it. Reminds me of being in Grandma's (or Mom's) kitchen.
