There isn't a tradition for "Mardi Gras" here in Germany, but we celebrate "Karneval", or "Fasching". Karneval season officially starts off on 11-11 at 11:11h, and it lasts until Ash Wednesday (tomorrow). Yesterday was "Rosenmontag" (roses monday), which is when the big parades in Cologne and Dusseldorf kick off and the folly people take over public life.

I hadn't even thought about Mardi Gras really being so far from the New Orleans fun, but I LOVE the necklace/bracelet by 3FUN! It is wonderful and a great Mardi Gras colors too :O)
