Etsy Finds: Turquoise, a Royal Jewel
Article Header Image

Whuddup Etsyians!

I've been doing a bit of cleaning up of my jewelry collection, and I've realized that its time to dust off my turquoise pieces for spring and summer! In doing this, I found myself wanting a slightly different assemblage of some turquoise standards. What better place for uniqueness than Etsy, right? I found this awesome neckpiece from seller NateStevensDesigns.

I think most people probably associate turquoise with certain Native American tribes. I'm Native myself, Choctaw and Cherokee, but I learned for this article that turquoise has actually been a popular jewel to adorn the body since the Ancient Egyptian times, mostly by Egyptian royalty.

Turquoise is extra special because no two pieces seem to have the same pattern or exact same color. As a Reiki Healer, I've also read about healing properties of the turquoise stone. Check out this link for reference on healing properties.

Who else is feelin' turquoise stones? Any royalty in the house? ;)

Check out some other pieces I'm lovin' below.

Only last night I was on a turquoise necklace hunt! Think I've found 'the one'..These are beautiful. I'm in love with the chunky bracelet by Lylasweetheart too.
Just wondering.. is turquoise a birthstone? If so, which sign?

Is there anything more gorgeous than turquoise on tan skin? I think not.

I love turquoise! I love that it can be in traditional Native American designs or something trendy and modern like this: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?...

Nice article!
I love turquoise too specially for the uniqueness of each stone. My favourite is tibetan turquoise, which is a bit greener in colour.
