On this historic day in the U.S. — with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day just yesterday — let us be thankful that the United States as a nation has made so much progress. Whether you're watching the inauguration from the crowded streets of Washington D.C. or from your television set, it's sure to be a monumental day full of hope and enthusiasm. This collection celebrates Barack Obama as he ushers in a new period of U.S. history. Happy inauguration!

Yes, what a day it is. When I was growing up they used to let us kids watch historical events on TV at school. Wonder if the school districts allowed our younger generations to watch today.Hope so.

What a wonderful day in History. I am excited to see more than just Obama as President but the unity of people this has brought together. I think that communities can heal just from this event, since people all over are inspired by a dream that came true. I am proud to be an American and witness this moment in time. We Can, we did, and we will!

The inauguration was so beautiful, I cried and cried and cried, and feel so blessed and am so proud of America. I can hug my husband wherever and whenever without fearing for my life and my children are safe and accepted. 60 years ago that would have been a death sentence to interracial couples and families. God is good All the time. Change has come and 2009 is the year where we will give birth to that Change.

I blubbed like a little girl. Living as an ex-pat overseas, the last 8 years have been hard on my patriotism. But yesterday, i was finally able to be proud of being an American again. :)
