We are happy to announce we are starting to roll out the Dolls and Miniatures Category Showcase today!  If you missed it, we announced the launch of the new Dolls and Miniatures Category earlier this month. Shoppers on the prowl for items with artistic inventiveness should definitely check out the new category, and starting tomorrow, shoppers will be able to see the corresponding Showcase too, for sellers' top picks from their own shops.

If you're a seller and want to purchase a spot in the Dolls and Miniatures Category Showcase, slots go on sale today and will go live October 16, 2008 at 12:00am Eastern Time. Click here.

Cute items you chose to feature, however some are neither dolls or miniatures. Is the showcase going to be open all types of items or only dolls and miniatures?

From the featured items it looks like the "toy" category by mistake. I doubt whether any of these would find their way into Art Doll Quarterly magazine and there isn't a dollhouse miniature to be seen. No wonder the art dolls in particular are being overhwhelmed, totally swamped, by items that are not considered art dolls by any true maker or collector. The only benefit of the new category is that it isn't actually called toys.

It's nice to see some new artists:) I really like the small sculptures by Bunnywithatoolbelt. And its great to see Morninglori's work here!(her work is regularly in art shows, galleries).

Um, I only see a couple of true scale miniatures. Did anyone from Etsy think to check with those in the know? I'm confused as to how some of these are considered "dolls" or "miniatures".

I'm SO happy that we finally have a category.

It used to be so nervewracking for me to list my miniatures as "toys" when they *ARE* the "small parts" that very young children famously put in their mouths, lol!
At last...a proper category. *sigh of relief*

I thought toys have a category, where are the ArtDolls we strived so hard to get noticed? I'm sorry but these dolls look like toys. I guess this is what Etsy wants everyone to strive for when they think ArtDolls and Miniatures.

This category has lots of wonderful and fun creations! But it does seem like a wide variety of items to be placed in one category...

well call me chopped liver! I just realized DAM is Dolls and Miniatures not ArtDolls and Miniatures. So dolls belong here. Wish ArtDolls got just as much exposure as regular dolls do tho.
