Etsy Finds: Best of the Week

Each day, I get a ton of emails pointing out new and notable items on Etsy, I click on the homepage an average of 8,904 times a day, and I pore over an ever-growing list of blogs that have somehow become daily must-reads. There is a lot of incredible stuff to look at! So, as I criss-cross and dot-to-dot Etsy throughout my week, I have a simple technique: favorite and run. Which is exactly what it sounds like: I quickly click "Add to Favorites," and move on.

But then the best part of my Etsy week is on the weekends when I allow myself a good chunk of time to review what I've bookmarked. So to start your week, here are my top nine items from last week's Etsy travels.


1. Little Red House Cross Stitch Earrings

Becky of Sweetie Pie Press visited Brooklyn for a few days and she turned me on to the rad cross-stitch goodies in redroostercraft's shop, $12.

2. The Secretary Blouse - Reworked - Size S

iheartnorwegianwood takes unflattering (but pretty!) vintage secretary blouses and magically transforms them into really, really cute tops. (This one is modeled by my pal Supayana), $45.

3. Faux Bling Necklace — Handknit and Felted Gold Chain

I saw this great knitted necklace posted by littlepurls in the last minutes of a Community chat with Matt in the Virtual Labs. $58.

4. Flower

Found this when searching "embroidered art quilt" last week. By sillyboodilly, $50.

5. Spotty Popcorn Dottie

These sweet little creations are the next big thing. Seen around Etsy a bunch last week, I predict an upcoming explosion of interest in AllysonMellberg's shop, $32.

6. Modern Flower and Cherry Dots Quilt and Pillow Set

Noticed this modern, cheerful nursery quilt while searching through Etsy's Children and Baby items as we're brainstorming another Storque series. By quiltbaby, a steal for $80.

7. Hand-Stitched Guitar long sleeve

Who else is a total sucker for adorable Etsy baby models? Yeah...I thought so. Look at this cutie!! Applique shirt by damestarbaby, $60.

8. Cloud Formation 1

I can't remember where I first saw these. But there is definitely not enough three dimensional jointed original paintings on Etsy. By madebymax, $90.

yay on the spotty popcorn. in my faves. selling on etsy isn't just "list and run". I spend so much time cruising around, hearting, making treasuries. It's quite a website...the talent is overwhelming!

If you're into embroidered art quilts you MUST check out www.baumcat.etsy.com. She is OVER the top when it comes to mini-artwork, the amount of hand stitching is mindblowing! And if you think the pics are good, you should see one in person!

I really like what you've chosen, esp that adorable childrens guitar shirt..
I know I often find myself adding zillions of new favorite items in the course of a day :) So many unique things here..I know it's a long ways off, but for the first time in a long time buying Christmas presents will be fun again :)
