Etsy Finds: Crafting an Eco-Friendly Wedding

Lately, I've been daydreaming about the challenge of pulling off an entire wedding with an eco twist.  With this idea in mind, I turned to Etsy, and I realized it's a breeze to find unique items to craft a memorable event that's also easy on the earth.  I think each of the items below would make a great start to pulling off the perfect environmentally friendly wedding all the way from the invitations to the favors.  To find more items like these try the search term eco wedding.

14k Diamond Wave Band

Kristin only uses diamonds in her work that are conflict-free and purchased in compliance with the Kimberley Process.  The ring above would make a great option for an engagement ring, wedding band, or combination of the two.  By kristincoffin, $685.

That little doves cake topper is so sweet! I already purchased mine from Middleburg, but this one is a close second on my list of favorites!

April 13, 2009 at 5:20 p.m. SunRayemomi

Thought it was fun to find this in my inbox today, since I'm currently designing my own ex-friendly wedding to take place on May second! I knew that Etsy would be a great place to find the random little eco-details that I needed.

I printed and embossed my own invites on recycled paper, and then wrapped them in a beautiful die-cut from Zimplicity.etsy.com - not necessarily the most eco-friendly of my wedding details but definitely worth mentioning!

Perched upon our cake, of which the ganache icing will have the look of bark, are a family of love birds - mom, dad, and 2 babies - that I purchased from Urastarhouse.etsy.com.

It was a joy working with both of those businesses!

I feel I ought to also mention that I am having an outdoor reception and we will be using Bambu Veneerweer plates and sporks for eating the cake on, which we will take home to reuse. We will be using biodegradable drinking cups and napkins, which we will take home to compost. There will be very little waste from our party!
