Anne of A Thing Of Beauty just blogged about 100 Great Artists on Etsy You Might Want to Check Out yesterday and managed to create the sweetest resource on Etsy illustration I've ever seen. I probably clicked all 100 links. She's got all your classic favorites like Matty8080 and Ashleyg and ohmycavalier, but tons more you definately haven't discovered yet. I tried to chose nine that I loved but hadn't seen before...

Paper Airplanes Limited Edition Print

As someone totally devoted to the paper airplane icon, I had to love this. But the geometric ghost guy surrounded by a glowing fushia archway is also pretty dope. This print is just all around wonderful. By betsywalton, $30.

Swallowfield's work reminds me of beautiful illustrations from an elementary school reading textbook, which was the pinnacle of artistic achievement to me when I was small. $24.

Checked out the blog, for the love of Etsy - it must have taken YEARS to put all those together! Some of my favourite artists/illustrators are featured... well done chaps!

Thanks so very much anda for featuring my article, this is incredibly rewarding to me.

And I must say I am thrilled with the positive reactions I have gotten so far from having compiled such a list. This was indeed hard work but in fact it was actually lots of fun to do and I love some of those artists even more now that I have browsed quite extensively through their work.

@ heidiburton : I started compiling the list only last Thursday and this is pretty much all that I have done this last week, but of course I dug those artists from my favorites and there are so many more to discover !

@ mLee : you are definitely in my favorites and have been for a long time now and I have hesitated to include you but decided to narrow the range of artists and kept artists such as you who mostly deal with specific techniques for some other time...

And I am glad anda featured two of the artists that are most dear to me : lisa congdon & betsy walton !

that list is so impressive and must have taken forever to put together! kudos to the curator!

mlee, i wasn't on the list either -- lots of people weren't! no reason to feel hurt -- there were only 100 artists represented out of thousands here on etsy.

I don't know. A lot of these are in similar styles, and repetitive of other popular artworks.

I felt quite honored and flabbergasted to be on this list amongst *so* many awesome painters and illustrators! There is an insane amount of talented artists on Etsy--far far too many for a list of 100.

Kudos, Anne! It looks beautiful! And it sounds like more lists shall be made, which I am eagerly awaiting to see. :)

it was a really great list and i found some new to me artists, which was a nice surpise since i spend so much time in this neck of the internet!

This was a list of illustrators as Etsy said it was, many with similar styles and there are many other artists on Etsy with various and different styles, perhaps the title should be "100 of my favorite artists" ; those of us with different styles would like to be considered great artists, too. It's basically a "super treasury" and very well put together.
