Spring forward, stay positive and celebrate! I am convinced that even in this time of economic downturn, we still need jewelry. And jewelry needn't be an expression of status. Real or fake, who really cares?

Some of my favorite pieces are ones that sit hovering between really gaudy and really fabulous. And I think it's great if you can wear a piece in different ways depending on your mood or confidence level on a particular day (as women we understand that some days are better than others!). Sometimes the stretch choker I would normally wear around my neck, I might decide to fling around my boot ankle....why not?! Some days you feel like making an entrance, a bit of jingle, jangle!

As for jewelry designs, it isn't just always about a well-crafted piece(don't get me wrong, that is important) but also about the 'fashionability' of the piece. Whether it's modern , vintage, retro, it's all fashion right now. Especially since we're counting our pennies, we can't afford to be too picky about whether its precious or faux. Quite often it depends on how and what you wear it with that determines on how 'rich' or tacky the piece looks.

Jewelry is also about the individual and should be another expression of the extension of our soul. Sometimes a pretty shell found on some special beach can have more meaning than the most perfect diamond. And how you felt when you found it will emanate whenever you wear it. Just what we need when all around seems doom and gloom.
