Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I grew up with a very Irish mother, so St. Patrick's Day was always a holiday I looked forward to as a kid. My family would always get together for a big corned beef and cabbage feast, with handmade Irish soda bread and artificially dyed green treats. The house would be covered in shamrocks, and the sound of Gaelic music would fill the rooms while my brother and I would pretend we knew how to dance a traditional Irish jig.

I hope you enjoy my St. Patrick's Day inspired Etsy Finds, and I wish you lots of luck celebrating a day filled with meat and potato feasting, leprechaun chasing, jig dancing and frothy beverage drinking. Cheers!

Top o' the mornin' to ya. I'm just a wee bit Irish myself. I went to a Catholic school and they used to play Irish music over the PA system on St. Paddy's day. I had to endure the inevitable "Clancy Lowered the Boom!

my fave Irish memory, albeit a bit bittersweet, is burying my grandparents and then having to each of us get up and throw a bit of dirt from the family home in Cork on top of the grave while the very irish priest read a prayer in gaelic.
We also have a lovely handtatted irish christening gown that is close to 200 years old that we were all christened with.My family pilgrimages there yearly to visit relatives and hopefully one day we'll bring the bayou there too. erin go braugh!!!

my least favourite memory of the years i lived in the US is without a doubt when st. patrick's day rolled around, and my elementary school in new england turned 'irish' for the day.. i always felt like crawling under a rock. oh well, happy st patrick's day!
