He's an artist and he has awesome taste, but he spends half the week installing things or building things or plunging things for the staff at Etsy Brooklyn and doesn't get nearly enough opportunities to show it off. OMG. Someone is always stealing my measuring tape at Etsy Labs. I have spray-painted it blue, written my name on it, I even got one with millimeters because I thought it would be less useful and thus a less likely target for theft (no disrespect for the mm, I love you!) Perhaps if I could just find a stash of wondrous, measuring-tape trinkets to distract everyone, I could go and measure the windows for A/C units (it's hot!)...

One of my favorite tools -- the measuring tape. As a sewing person, I use it all the time. As a nurse, working with pregnant women, I use a measuring tape too (got to keep track of that expanding belly)!! Ahhh -- the convergence of two worlds!

Pete, I feel your pain. My Lydia cat is a thief. She steals anything she fancies and we have yet to find my husband's set of keys! One day she grabbed my sewing measuring tape off the table and took off with it with her brother in hot pursuit. She made it out the dog door and half way up a tree before I caught up with her! I had visions of a measuring tape decorated tree, but it got caught in one of the lower branches and I was able to retrieve it. Miss Lydia is my Avatar so there she is with her sweet face on.
