Wow I knew November was topaz but I always thought the stone was a dark amber-gold. I never knew about citrine and that it could be light, almost pastel. Really pretty.

November has many birthstones. The most commonly known one is actually the topaz. Citrine is just a newbie to the category, it seems. I'm guessing it has something to do with increased popularity. I used to hate my birthstone (the topaz) all the time, till I found out that the topaz comes in other colors, like blue. I still like the ruby and garnet the best of them, but I've never been that fond of the color yellow.

We've made up in the last year.
