"This nondescript little box counts various human deaths."
I'm not into shaming smokers, or forcing my views on people, but there is something a little disturbing and attractively sinister about this small little metal box by megaplow. Imagine this box sitting on a corner table softly humming as you sit in the dark with the TV on, faintly aware of the click, click of the numbers changing. The box not moving, just working; the numbers just rolling, as you shower and head out to work, leaving it alone for the day. What's inside it? Would you go near it? What would happen if you picked it up and shook it trying to get it to stop and the numbers jumped ahead? Could you deal with having that on your conscience?

"What's inside it? Would you go near it?"
the listing pictures show what's inside it. It has 3 modes which you control.
from the listing:
"It can be set to count annual smokers deaths, AIDS deaths and abortions. Depending on your views or the views you would like to impose on others, you set the program accordingly."
I think I'd just remove the battery and thus save the human race from all death and suffering.
If only it were that easy.
