After an exhausting day of hitting the slopes — the quiet swishing through fresh fallen snow and relaxing rides up the ski lift — it's time for a well deserved winter's rest. How about a little après-ski, 1970's style? Let's adjourn to the ski lodge, fire up the hot tub and start the fondue prep! I'll pour the hot toddies if you hold the mugs! Here's to winter and ski culture, vintage style.
This orange fondue pot is sure to set the mood. From peacockmodern, $18.
retro Fondue Sticks with Colored Dots

Brr! I need to bundle up until the hot toddies start working. From BlendedSplendid, $12.

Yay! Skiing. I am going to Austria in January. I fancy a nice glass of gluhwein and a hot cheese fondue after a day on the slopes.

I love the vintage intro picture - It really sets the tone for the article.

Wow, those are some Vintage items.
We love the fondue sets.
Great work!

That Nordic sweater is very pretty- around the late 70s people began wearing lots of designs like that and this Strawberry Ice Cream one:

You find the best vintage. Us poor folks like to skip to holiday skiing and get right to the drinkin'

Nice picks. I love fondue. Especially the stinky cheese kind. We're about to get hit by a blizzard here in MN so these items would be perfect for today!

~thevintageholicfrog~ YOU are awesome! {And you're right, everyone else is, too}.
About fondue: It's the BEST way to eat decadently without the guilt (think veggies dipped in cheese, fruit dipped in rich chocolate). MMmmm!

This is such a cute theme! I love those old 60's/70's skiing images, they are so cozy and kitschy.

cocoa, fires, snow and vintage Christmas. Love the vintage skiing dolly. Perfect for under the tree.

Yay fondue! I don't ski, but I dig the 70's apres-ski lifestyle. Does that make me a poser? Buppins's store has some great finds.

i am so in love with that retro era. wish wish wish it was still 1972 and everyone was really eating out of burnt orange bowls and wearing roseanne like shawls on their sofas. love love love.

Hehe love the "If you can walk, you can ski" bit, although I have say, its not entirely true! At least not for me...maybe I walk funny?
twinbirchbathandbody
I LOVE fondue! It is the best party food around! I have to admit that i like skiing but the apres~ski is the reason I go!

Fond fondue memories. The best is to melt mars bars into a chocolate sauce and dip fruit and marshmallow - the taste WAY makes up for the calories!!
HeatherLucille
Can we skip the skiing and go straight for the foodstuffs in our Granny afghans and Nordic sweaters? Mmmmm....
