Shopping for vintage is all about the thrill of the hunt. I've had many collections that dominated my thrifting rampages over the years: deer figurines, The Lonely Doll series, Virgin Mary icons, sequin bat wing tops, etc. However, one obsession that never leaves me is that of mid-century modern design and Danish Modern style.
Thus, it would only make sense to integrate my Scandinavian fixation into my latest passion: kitchen goods. I've gotten decidedly more domestic in the last few months—or rather, the mountain of Pyrex, modular dishes and cookie sheets crowding my apartment would make it appear as such. I've yet to actually throw a dinner party, but until that day comes, all of my beautiful dishes will remain on the shelf for me to look at with pride. With this in mind, here are some Finds to get your kitchen back to the Danish Modern world of 1963.
Retro Rooster Salt and Pepper Napkin Holder

I love this article! Those fondue forks match a sleek looking cast iron fondue pot that I just found at a thrift store!

This article brings back such good memories. I've always loved the sleek, unfussy style of Scandinavian modern furniture from the '60s. And these Danish modern kitchen accessories are fabulous. I still own and treasure most of a set of Danish modern cutlery that I was given in the mid-70s.
Thanks so much.

I am right there with you! I am obsessed with Danish Modern decor! Not too long ago, I scored a dining set for 6 at one of my local thrifts. One chair has a leg missing but I just couldn't pass the price up! I figure that I will get the leg replaced one of these days:)
I just have to mention a fellow seller, skinnylaminx. I am a HUGE fan of hers. Her blog is amazing. Her home is decked out in that style as well.
