Today's Featured Buyer is Joy Behar of popular daytime tv show The View, where her sassy wit shines along with those of her co-hosts.  joypic.jpgLucky for us, Joy has a talented daughter too: Eve Behar, ceramicist and Etsy seller. Eve kindly connected us to her mom and below, you'll find a little interview with did with Joy and some of her favorite items from Etsy.

How did you hear about Etsy and why do you like it?
I first discovered Etsy through my daughter, Eve, who is  a ceramic artist and has an Etsy shop — evebehar. She turned me on to it and I really like it because of all the great handmade merchandise and how easy it is to navigate.

Will you be buying any handmade gifts this holiday season?
Of course. I prefer original handmade gifts to mass produced because they are just more special.

Do you craft/make anything?
I've made a few paper mache puppets in my day, but lately all I do is talk — except I often make my own Christmas cards and I think people enjoy that.

Why should people shop on Etsy, and why do you think it is a viable alternative to big box stores?
I like personal items that are unique and thoughtful. Also, the environment needs a break from all mass production.

I LOVE Joy Behar. I remember when The View first aired. Joy was the only one I found interesting to listen to. I love her politics and the fact that she is so well informed and outspoken, not to mention brilliantly funny!

What a rush and a treat to see Joy Behar here! For her to take time out from her crazy schedule to make a few cool comments and item picks is quite generous. I often view the goodies in her daughter Eve's shop and have wondered just how many ceramic pieces Joy gets to keep!

I think this is really great to feature a buyer. I always pay attention to what makes a buyer find us and what their tastes are. Lovely photo of the two of you! You have the same eyes and smile! This year I even made bags that are reusuable for shopping to put my gifts to family in. That way no paper or boxes to recycle! Etsy has been the best place ever, If I cant make it sometimes I can trade with someone who can and likes my Greenmen or other things maybe they cant make! It been a online family of freinds. I even met lots of the NJ ETSY Street team I belong to and we have a ball when we get together! Joy would love the funny things people say in our group gatherings at our shows! We even did a Add in WEIRD NJ MAGAZINE! That us...So glad to see someone as wonderfull as Joy actually found us!

I've seen the view a few times and it's obvious to me that Joy is not afraid to voice her opinions, but that she discourages other with opposing views from voicing theirs. And she pouts. Other than this she has a seemingly sweet personality. If only she would be more tolerant and reasonable.
