With a shop just over a week old, designoptions' colors caught my eye while I was checking out the Storque Showcase. This newbie sellers says she's already "crazy about [Etsy] and somewhat addicted!! I love the Pounce site feature and looking at the other artists' favorites." For her enamel jewelry, she uses color combinations that really pop (for more on color theory, check out this how-to). "I received a degree in interior design with a minor in historic preservation from Mount Vernon College in DC. I married my high school sweetheart after graduation, and we live in a 100+ year old renovated farmhouse in Kensington, Maryland. I continued to study art at the Corcoran, and the Maryland Institute while working as a project architect on a many different types of commercial projects from hotels, restaurants, offices, to health club, healthcare and day care facilities.

I have been a full-time jeweler for the last ten years and currently work on two different lines. My sterling and electroformed copper nature-inspired line, "herban elements" is only available on my website right now, but i hope to have it on Etsy soon. 'High contrast,' my three dimensional enameled grouping currently in my shop, combines kiln fired enamels with oxidized sterling silver in a playful, yet still modern way.

I love color and am thrilled to have been able to incorporate it into my metal work. A trip to the Caribbean with my family inspired me to investigate the use of color as a powerful tool in my daily work as a designer, which eventually lead to experimenting with color in my artwork. Cartoons, nature, architecture and music continue to influence my work. My life as an artist is pretty sweet! I get to do what I love all the time! My day-to-day existence is always the same yet completely different!"
