Gift Ideas: Steampunk

We at the Storque are big fans of steampunk, the amalgamation between Gothic style and Neo-Victorian fancies: a combination of black and gold, glitter and grime, and totally "Tim Burton-esque." (Trends piece, check!) Here we've compiled gifts for the neo-Victorian, mechanical fashionista on your list.

Have a steampunk recommendation? Leave it in the comments!

P.S. Check out Make Magazine's gift guide for steampunks — Etsy's all over it!

P.P.S. The New York Times finally caught on to this in May 2008 — see their article here. We were ahead of the curve in December of 2007! Boo yah!

Wonderful! I love the Brain Lab Assistant piece. Steampunk has an underlying "Tim Burton"-esqueness that I adore.

An excellent spotlight on a cool trend! Notice that the key here is to renovate, not imitate, these historical fashions. The items you picked are perfect examples, teenangster.

I'd like to invite you to look at my ornamental clutch:

I can't seem to get enough steampunk - I'm so glad to see more of it popping up everywhere. My adornments are on the neo-victorian side of steampunk - no gears involved yet... but it's in the works.

I've been saving up for Straight Razor Slasher's spats:
