Hi there! Alison aka TeenAngster here. We've decided to change things up a bit, so from here on out, the Featured Buyer series will be known as the Guest Curator series. Hope you enjoy this week's selections! Oh Joy is the best.
Joy Deangdeelert Cho, aka ohjoystudio, is a freelance graphic designer who runs the Oh Joy! blog, where she posts daily about things that inspire her, from home decor to fashion to food. Her design company, Oh Joy! Studio, takes on variety of clients in the fields of home accessories, surface pattern, identities, packaging, and custom invitations. She also has a collection of ready-made stationery called Nantaka Joy, which is available in shops nationwide and around the world.
I love mixing materials and emphasizing contrast in my work...hard and soft, elegance with whimsy, dark and light, etc. So when I'm shopping, I tend to favor things that include that type of contrast or texture. I definitely love pieces and styles that are feminine in nature especially when they have some sort of unexpected twist. Whether it's an interesting use of texture, material or unexpected contrast, I enjoy being surprised by these little details.
From A to B Necklace by Locallibrary
Locallibrary's jewelry uses industrial materials like metal and wood offset with simple and feminine shapes. I love the tiny metal bird that hovers over the piece...a sweet surprise mixed with the harder edge chain link.

Frou Frou by Roselabiche
Roselabiche's shirt seems casual at first, but the giant ruffled rosettes add dimension and contrast, for instant glamour.

Tod & Billie Candleholders by jeanpelle
My heart stopped when I first saw jeanpelle's candleholders. Since I often mix metallics with more earthy stocks in my stationery line, so these pieces really spoke to me. They are insanely beautiful.

Speckled Green Head Dress by houseofelsa
I love the feminine, yet slightly imperfect look of houseofelsa's fascinators. This green color is amazing, and the tiny frayed threads give it a worn vintage look.

Large Algal Bloom Pendant by nervoussystem
So, by now, you know I love necklaces, and nervoussystem's pendants are one of my favorites for their intricate, nature-inspired shapes all pristinely cut out of metal.
Crafty Girls Vintage Stamps by BirdandBanner
Who wouldn't want to receive a letter topped off with this mix and match assortment of antique textile stamps by BirdandBanner?

Bleu Rosy Finch Dress by Makool
This custom dress by Makool looks like it's out of a dream...super feminine and sweet, yet the contrasting band of dark blue gives it a little edge.

Camper Vessel by paigerussell
paigerussell makes the greatest porcelain vessels. I love how she can take a shape as simple (yet unexpected) as a camper, and turn it into a gorgeous vessel. I love the subtle sense of humor in this one.

Buttoned Necklace by neawear
I love the crafty mix of wood and thread in this necklace by neawear.

The Writer print by blanchucha
Both sweet and sad, I like this little print by blanchucha. The subject manages to shed a tear while smoking a cigar. It's funny and cute and off-kilter all at the same time.

Whimsy and Spice Gift Box by whimsyandspice
Since I'm a huge foodie, I often post about sweet and pretty edible things on my blog.
whimsyandspice's baked goods mix unique flavors (like chocolate chili & hazelnut whisky) with simple and sweet shapes for a true grown-up treat.

Unglazed Necklace and Red Sky Fabric bead by tinctory
tinctory's smocked necklaces are made using elaborate techniques inspired by historic textiles. The craftsmanship here is so visible as they are truly amazing to look at.

Peony No. 3287 by kariherer
I love these super pink and feminine peonies against the dark and ominous background in kariherer's photograph.

Mini Wall Hanging Tea Pot Clock by decoylab
decoylab's mini clocks combine 2-D and 3-D elements in such a fun way. I could seriously have a wall full of these clocks...the different moving hands would be really fun to watch.

Oh my god, oh my god, Joy....
As I just said in my comment on your blog, I've been reading your blog for quite a while, you're part of my absolute favorite readings in the morning with my cup of hot cafe au lait - this moment when the day has not totally started yet and when I need a little dose of freshness and inspiration.
And now today, I'm sooooo happy and ecstatic to see you chose my ETSY shop, Rose La Biche, as one of your favorite ones. I'm beyond flattered!!
Seeing my FROUFROU top here just totally made my day - even my week!
