Laura-lai, one of my very bestest friends, is getting married later this year. That's her on the right and me on the left (below) a couple of years ago at Farm Aid. 
Laura (I call her Laura-lai, a nickname I made up for her) and I have many things in common—we like to go to concerts together, we both love handmade and DIY stuff, we are both foodies, we both are interested in reducing our environmental impact and lots of other stuff.
One thing that I can say we do not have in common is our style in fashion, home decor and the like. If we are out shopping together there is little chance
that we will both like the same dress or sofa or earrings or shoes or anything. If we both see some tees we like, she will grab a green one and I will grab a purple one. She likes stripes, I can’t stand them. If we are window shopping together, she goes yuck to all the things I drool over and vice versa. We are just different, is all.
However, we are both alike in that we spend most of our time in jeans and t-shirts. In fact, I think the last time Laura was really dressed up may have been at her sister’s wedding about two years ago (pictured left). When she does dress up, her style still tends to be pretty casual, so planning this wedding is a really big deal for her.
That said, now that she's in the throes of planning her wedding, Laura must contemplate the fancier side of things. And as her best friend, I decided to vicariously put together a little wish list of goodies I would choose for Laura-lai if I were planning her wedding and not her. She may not like what I pick, but I know she's just gonna love that I did this!
First off, Laura has some of the most gorgeous hair I've ever seen. It's thick and just the prettiest shade of red. I hope she wears something fun in her hair to show off her locks. Something like these goodies:

It’s not that Laura doesn’t like to wear dresses or anything like that, it’s really that our lifestyles just don't call for getting all gussied up much. We live in a college town, so even at the nice restaurants you find jeans and flip flops pretty much year round. Plus, Laura is a midwife, which means she spends a lot of time in comfy midwifery clothing and doesn’t really have much time for formal attire! As for the dresses, I'd like something a little vintagey or retro for her. Or maybe something sweetly elegant. Here’s a few I’d love to see on her.

As far as jewelry and accessories, I know she will probably play it low-key, but I would love to see her wear some bling and kick it up a notch with some accessories. I think blue would work well with her pretty hair and fulfill that whole ‘something blue’ quota.

For her wedding décor and wedding accessories, I actually think she may like some of my picks, especially considering that some of them are more environmentally friendly. These are made from reused materials and/or can be reused as home décor after the big day.

If I were choosing her stationery, I'd choose something fun and bright, which to me would complement her personality. I'd also choose a design with a nature motif because I think she would like that.
