Each year, RISD gives each graduate an Artrepreneur Kit, and this time Etsy is making an appearance. We're pleased to welcome RISD graduates into the fold of alumni and the Etsy community!

2011 graduates are also invited to apply for a special RISD + Etsy fellowship, where the graduate with the most promising shop will be selected to attend the Hello Etsy Summit in Berlin.

Instructions for how to apply for the fellowship are right on the insert in the Artrepreneur Kit. If you're a graduate, please join the RISD Etsy Team (this team right here!). Feel free to post any questions here in this discussion thread.

Congrats again and best of luck!

We have made the decision and will announce it officially early next week. I'm putting together a blog post.

The decision was NOT easy to make. You are all so talented!!

Hey there
Feel free to post any questions you have about the Hello Etsy + RISD Fellowship.

For any new grads who are starting a shop, the best Seller Handbook post to check out is this one:

You can also check out the calendar on this page

Click on the events that are Newbie chats and Shop Critiques to get more info. These are virtual chats with my coworkers and other Etsy sellers. Sometimes it really helps to hear the questions other people ask!

Hey Danielle! I just got an email about this from the RISD alumni network - they made it seem like any RISD grad can apply, not just 2011 - might want to send out a correction about that! I almost applied myself just now until I saw your post here!

I'm also under the impression any graduation year can apply. The essay form says "all RISD graduates." etsy.me/helloetsyapp

I'm a little confused on how to apply. Could you help me out?

Posted at 5:09 am Jul 28, 2011 EDT

I thought this was supposed to be an opportunity for the 2011 grads who are trying to start out fresh with Etsy and start a new creative business, and now that every can apply it just seems unfair. New grads aren't established yet on Etsy, and will have a hard time competing with people who are. It's just not a level playing field. Based on the graduation gift packet we got, I understood that the judging criteria would be based on shop potential. How will applications be judged now?

So all I need to do in order to apply is fill out that online form with my name, email, shop name and essay? Is that it?
