I saw this in the latest issue of Crochet magazine and thought it would be fun to share and participate in this project for the troops. Its a charity that sends letters and ornaments to military personnel who are overseas at Christmas.
BRILLIANT IDEA! I don't think the ornaments have to be crocheted, Just small.
From the Autumn 2011 issue of Crochet Magazine:
Remember the most famous reindeer of all? Like Rudolph, founders Sgt. Joseph and Tawny Campbell, and stateside directors Ray and Cheri Archibald, make sure that gifts and letters are delivered during the holidays. For the last 6 years, they have given their time and money to help our soldiers overseas through the organization Project Rudolph.
Project Rudolph hands out tens of thousands of letters and pocket-size (5 inches or less) Christmas ornaments to soldiers who are away from their families, some for the first time in their lives.
these precious gifts from home are given to service people transitioning through the airport and are also sent to hospitals and military units around the world.
Please take a moment to write a letter showing your support for these brave individuals.

Project Rudolph appreciates letters from children, but greatly needs adults to send letters as well.

I have a dozen stockings to send. Some of the artists at the gift store I sell in may donate ornaments also. I plan on mailing them to you by the end of this month! Thanks for bringing project Rudolph to our attention :)
