As we adore and specialize in vintage jewelry, prospective members should have a healthy inventory in vintage jewelry and are vetted into the group on the following criteria:
1. You must maintain at the very least the minimal admittance requirements of new member shops which is:
a. 30 non-altered pieces of vintage jewelry or 25% of your total inventory (whichever is greater)
b. Completed Profile including return policy. We encourage, but do not require VJSE shops to accept returns. One way or another, your policy must be stated clearly on your shop policies page.
c. Backs and marks should be pictured
d. Flaws clearly listed and condition described
e. Shipping should be reasonable and policies should be stated clearly.
f. Have a willingness to develop a personal commitment to develop your business.
g. Positive Feedback rating of no less than 97%
2. All members must use the tag "vjse group team" on their vintage jewelry in their shop; and upon leaving the VJSE Team, have the tags removed within 7 days.
a. Members are required to actively participate: Active participation means on a regular basis be visual in discussions on the VJSE
YAHOO GROUP and the Etsy Team Discussion Group Page; as well as being supportive of your team members. We understand that family, work, and other responsibilities may affect your ability to participate. We would like team members to tailor their participation to a level that fits their lives.
Opportunities to participate include but are not limited to:
i. Discussions in the Yahoo Group -
ii. Posts on the Etsy Team Discussion Group Page - Forums tend to lose their functionality when they become clogged with unrelated material. When using the forum, please use the posted thread themes ONLY as this keeps the forum organized and useful to all members. If you would like a specific thread opened for discussion that is not currently on the forum, send that information to me (Contact Captain - Left sidebar) and I will post that thread for you. PLEASE DO NOT OPEN NEW THREADS THEMES YOURSELF.
iii. Treasuries: Curating, commenting, favoriting, and Social Networking Sharing.
iv. Promote curators shops when they include you in their treasury.
v. Support Team Members by Favoriting their items and including them in your circles.
vi. Reciprocation - if someone promotes you, return the favor by promoting their shop some way.
vii. Use your Social Networking Sites to Promote: Facebook, Twitter, Tumble, Stumble, Pinterest.
viii. Help to stimulate ideas for Promotion & Participate in Group Promotional Events.
ix. Blogging - Volunteering to witer blog post for the VJSE Group Team Blog.
x. Respond to Quarterly Check In – A quarterly database clean up will be made every quarter. Shops not responding or shops not meeting the basic requirements will be removed from the Database and membership list.
b. Be a positive presence on the team with an attempt to support group efforts and to problem solve issues.
c. Develop a Personal Participation Challenge: A personal commitment to promotion—picking and frequency something that works for
you as an individual--circles, hearts, making treasuries, commenting on treasuries, facebook, twitter, or Blogging.
d. Share knowledge of areas of expertise such as Social networking, photography, things of that nature that can benefit the group as a
whole.
e. Be willing to learn new and innovative ways of promoting both our own shops and VJSE members, as well as promoting the team on a group level.
3. You MUST SUBSCRIBE to the VJSE YAHOO GROUP Team Page Digest OR you MUST ACCEPT "individual email messages" from the VJSE YAHOO GROUP in one of three ways in order to be a member of the group. You MAY choose one of the following Email Settings in VJSE Yahoo Group:
• “Individual” – all messages sent to the message board will go to your email address. Infrequent, but important, messages from the owners or moderators will go to your email address.
• “Daily Digest” – Yahoo will send one or two emails per day to your email address that contain a list of all the group messages from the previous day. Infrequent, but important, messages from the owners or moderators will go to your email address.
• “Special Notices” – You will receive ONLY infrequent, but important, messages from the owners or moderators which are necessary for all members to know.
• The use of “No Email” or “Web Only” is NOT PERMITTED.
4. VJSE Policy on Plagiarism or Misuse of Intellectual Property (Photo's and Descriptions):
Because Etsy holds of great importance the infringement of intellectual properties, any member who plagiarizes or uses pictures of another without permission will be removed from the team.
We take great pride in following industry standards and tout that we are the best of best Vintage Jewelry Sellers on Etsy. With that in mind, the integrity of this team is at risk when members act dishonestly by using pictures without permission or descriptions are copied word for word. o DO NOT use curse words, rude, crude, or “off color” language in your messages.
o FLAMES, PERSONAL ATTACKS and CALLING OUT are not allowed. Flames are messages that are intended to hurt, belittle, make fun of, or put down another person.
o Members are required to be respectful, as VJSE has a zero tolerance for abusive emails and/or postings regarding any member in any format (other yahoo group, etsy, tumbler, twitter, blogger, facebook etc.).
