HandmadeMovement ☼ Sneak Attack Thurs Sept 22 at 4:00 pm EST (Etsy time) ☼

Who can join?

HandmadeMovement has the following requirements:

TEAM RULES
1. Everyone is welcome to join.YOU MUST READ our TEAM RULES and CRITERIA and agree with our TEAM PURPOSE. http://www.etsy.com/teams/7565/handmademovement/discuss/9620097 The Captain/Leaders will create threads of interest to the team so no one will get lost in the mix. Any concerns or questions can be convoed to them.

2. PLEASE understand that we are NOT a SELF-PROMOTION Team. Please abide by this rule. If you'd like to show us a new item or something special occasionally, we would be happy to chat with you about it and look it over in our regular thread only. We enjoy seeing each others' work but our main purpose is to promote our "victim" and other shops, not ourselves. Our purpose is to Make A New Shop's Day!

3. As per our Guidelines and Criteria: Members or their Friends and Family are NOT eligible to be Sneak Attacked.

4. Since the purpose and mission of this Team is to Sneak Up On a New Shop or a recent shop with few sales, if you join our team, we REQUIRE you to participate in some of the Sneak Attacks AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH by dropping by the Sneak Attack threads and supporting the shops that are chosen. You do not have to purchase anything unless you want to, but you can chat to keep the thread going, heart shops and items, make Team treasuries and promote them through your other social media. If you do use your other social media please post it in the thread for that day so we will know you have done so; it will count toward participation. It is not expected that you have to be at every Sneak Attack, but it would be great if you can. Also we would like to get to know you better and would love to see you around our regular Handmademovement Unite thread. We need help discovering new shops, offering encouragement to newbies who wonder if anyone really sees their art, ask for advice on how to improve a listing, telling 'first sale' stories, etc. Here's a quote from a previous "victim", Summer said: "I have the sneak attack team to thank for really getting me going on Etsy. I was on the verge of giving it up when you guys found me and I want to help others get going too." I don't want ANYONE giving up - that's why we're here! And, FYI, Summer is well over 100 sales now - woo hoo!

5. From time to time the team captain and leaders will monitor the Sneak Attacks for attendance and if the they determine that you are not meeting this basic ONCE A MONTH requirement, we reserve the right to remove you from the team. If you are removed, you are welcome to rejoin at a later date when you feel that you can participate more regularly.

6. We hope you'll love Sneak Attacks so much that one day you'll want to "lead the charge" and give Sponsoring a shot... the first time you do, we can even pair you with an experienced person! Hang out in the Handmade Movement Unite thread and Sneak day threads and you'll see how it works. You can check out what you need to know to Sponsor on the Handmademovement.blogspot.com and in our Sponsor Schedule thread http://www.etsy.com/teams/7565/handmademovement/discuss/9047106

7. Choose to stay informed in one (or more) of the following ways:

a) click "subscribe to email digest" there on the left side of any page in this team - it's one email summary a day, and it's very handy!

b) subscribe to the reminder emails (this is an email from Stockannette on Sneak days, which gives you the start time and a link to the thread for the day) by signing up on the convenient sidebar on HandmadeMovement.com.

!!! Join us for a night of surprising an undiscovered shop !!!

Most Mondays and Thursdays, new or relatively undiscovered Etsy shops are chosen as "victims”. Many shoppers visit the sites, buying and favoriting and commenting to others, resulting in a bunch of surprise business in a very short time. It’s a great way to give a big boost to a new Etsy shop!

At 7:00 PM EST (Etsy Time) Thursday Sept 22, we are going to begin our next sneak attack. Go to www.handmademovement.com at or soon after 4:00 PM and you'll see the chosen shops names. Just click on the shops to see what goodies are in store for you. If you make a purchase, be sure to include the words "Sneak Attack" in the "message to seller.”

Don’t worry about being too late for the attack. If the shop name is still up there, you can still go and make a purchase. They are usually still up into the next day. Remember to come back here and chat with us as we will be here all night and we love to talk about our purchases and favorites.

Some shops add more listings after learning that they’re being attacked. So, check back often!

Even if you can't make a purchase, you can still help by marking their shops or items as favorites, adding them to your circle and spreading the word. If you see something a friend or family member might like, ask them to view the shop. We welcome anyone to come in and join us with the chatter and fun! This thread is up all day the day of the attack for friendly discussions.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to show my appreciation for what youv'e done for me today! It honestly has made not only my day but my entire year. This is a wonderful idea and i would sooooo love to be a part of it next time! I have been doing a few things for other Etsy shops who have struggled like me. Ive offered to make free banners for a few shops and accepted a few trades instead of sales but this 'Sneak Attack' thing is so much fun i think i wll join you next time.

Again, thank you so much for what youv'e done, its already given me more views in an hour than ive had since i opened my shop ;-)

Going to list that Caterpillar now!

Thanks,
Crystal from World Of Mine

I just got a convo from HandmadebySheena.

"I just wanted to take an extra second to say thank you so much for being my first sale on etsy! I will get your item shipped out first thing tomorrow!"

I did suggest in my buyer note that she join us here, so hopefully she will.

It's so nice to see someone that does something for the users with little or no sales. It's a huge spirit lifter and now a lot of my fears of people not buying things because I have no feedback as a seller are abolished. It's also very reassuring to know that someone likes your art!

I'm so amazed at all of you for finding my shop and to Yarn2dye4 for deeming it worthy of attacking... still laughing about the sneak attack message, it was such a shock to get it at 6am while i was bleary eyed attempting to make a coffee with my phone in one hand checking emails and a baby under the other arm! You have all done wonders for my shop and my esteem, as like Sheena i was really starting to doubt id ever make a sale. My partner was saying 'wow, some one favourited it... again... will anyone ever buy one though..?' then a minute later my email alert starting going off, constantly, for the next hour and i turned to him and said "OMG, YES!!!!" Its made one very happy household thats for sure!

So a million thanks to all of you and definatly count me in for a sneak soon!

xoxo
Crystal

oh, Caterpillar pattern is up for those interested, i apologise for the delay, my computer decided now was a great time to download updates, for 3 hours, with a shonky mobile broadband connection...
