Etsy as things get busier PLEASE consider showing under avi the country the buyer is from. Seller too if they don't show it!
By the time I go back and forth "how long to get to me?"
"Where are you located?"
"OH! I'm in Toledo!" or UK, etc
My OOAK item has already sold! This is not good for anybody.
This time of year is very fast paced for buyers and sellers and hours between will mean lost sales - it happens every year. Let's take as many questions out as possible.
This would be for those of us without shipping specifics yet.
Thank you!

You can always click on any item and look at the shipping - it will say Ships From. That's extra work, of course. I don't think at least a country would hurt and a state would be nice too.

Marty I mean for me to tell where a buyer lives. But yes all helpful. I've heard some buyers say they don't want it known what state they are in but I get sales that way as buyers see I'm close by, at least in the same country, etc.
Actually always needed and helpful as I sometimes spend a lot of time working out details only to find it's already past cutoff date to their country! (and they usually don't want to pay express).

I agree. At least the country could show. I've had the same issues as you have, OP.....and then they're angry when the item has sold. All could have been avoided with simply putting the country under the buyer's user name.

I totally agree, I wish all sellers would just be upfront about where they are located. yes, I know there are privacy issues, but just a state (or equivalent; province, etc) and country would really be nice and a lot quicker than the "where shipped from" methodology!

Yes, it would be helpful.
I quite often get inquiries from buyer only accounts regarding shipping costs (even though they are all listed in each listing) and I generally reply
$xxx for USA
$yyy for Canada
$ zzz for everywhere else (but that can depend on the actual country)

Yes! When a buyer has questions about shipping, or a custom order, it takes extra convos back and forth to establish what country they live in, which effects the price quote and shipping time. Would be cleaner and quicker if we knew what country everyone was from right up front.

Many buyers don't read the full listing details.
