Any way to protect our listings

Some of my listings were stolen by a site called www.988Store.com I spotted a lot of other Etsy seller's items there as well.

I'd love to see Etsy work on a way to protect our shops from rip-off sites. In this case, they lifted one of my photos (which I know isn't hard to do) as well as my entire listing description. I would love to see an option for protecting our work product. Perhaps scramble the photo and listing info if it's copied without permission.

I'm just saying, I know this hasn't been the first - we saw listings on Alibaba before Christmas, and my guess is more of these will be popping up. This would be a huge seller benefit on Etsy if you could swing something for the selling community.

Thanks for your consideration.

Definitely with you. My items have been stolen by these sites too, and there must be a way to prevent this from happening. You don't see Ebay listings stolen.
I'm with you Judy
2 of my listings were found on this site as well.
I left a nasty msg, under the listing, contacted go daddy/ abuse.
Not sure what else we can do.

It looks like it a venue. You'd probably do best contacting the seller directly
Omg my items sre on there too! I clicked to buy and it brought me to etsy though wierd
Some of mine are there, too.
I clicked on one of mine TO BUY and it went right back to my Etsy listing.
This is really weird!
I would like to know who it is and what benefit they think it will be to them when it just goes back to Etsy.
I left them messages asking not to use my pictures.

There was another thread on this today, but it was closed for some reason.
Hope this stays open long enough for us to find out what is going on!!
This is really wierd, as of 15 min ago the link to buy the item was in active...now it links back to my shop...very scary.
I actually would not like this. It would be really difficult for bloggers to feature our work, and that has given me more benefit than any of these sites have done damage. Also, it would probably impair Pinterest.

I suggest putting a watermark on your photos. In most cases this can be unobtrusive in a lower corner, and if a photo is lifted, it will still lead people back to your site. Many site, like this recent one probably would not bother trying to get rid of the watermark. They aren't even changing descriptions, so you could make sure you mention your shop name and possibly an internal link in the description, and that would also lead people back to you.
I think that as long as Etsy allows developers to use this:

www.etsy.com/help/article/120?ref=help_search_result

and does not monitor properly who is using it and in what way, this will continue to happen.

Mine link to my shop as well.

Why would I want to stop that?
