Sorry, but the gal I know (off Etsy) who makes hair clips does not use a hot glue gun because it becomes brittle and won't stick.

She uses E6000. I'm sure there are other glue options.

On those type of hair clips it does peel off easily. The glue does have to be very hot. Maybe 20 minutes plugged in. I suggest you try to wrap the tic tic clip with ribbon or fabric and then hot glue the quill to the fabric and it should stay. Good luck!

PS.. Even if you wrap them in Felt it would work too!
E6000 and rough up the clip where the glue will sit, maybe with something simple like an emery board
How about a couple of dots of "crazy glue"?
I would rough up the clip and apply crazy glue. It's very inexpensive, and should hold much better than hot glue.
Hot glue really isn't the best glue for the application at all. I'd be working with either E6000 or another glue more suited to the application.

Wrinkle cream!!! who knew??!!
wrinkle cream should cause fewer burns, I'd imagine, and be less messy. I always make a mess of hot glue.

Sadly, I don't really have any glue advice. E6000 is good and I've used two part epoxy but not sure if they'd be suitable for your project.
