anyone else notice the shift in the front page selection these last few weeks? the strong emphasis on selecting treasuries made by shops opened in the last few weeks but shops that have little to no content? the repeating of the same "fresh shops" over and over again and the even stranger connections of these treasury makers to the hudson new york area? i think it must be a bug on the front page treasury selection. i wouldn't want to find out that the front page treasury selection is rigged. admin- help, please fix the bug.

front page treasuries are bugged

Hey!
The criteria we use to select treasuries for the Front Page is the same we've always used. We primarily curate around seasonal themes and trends, with a mind to artful collections that represent the diversity of products on Etsy.
You can find a bit more details on this topic here:

We don't look at the age or a shop or how many listings it has. Unless a regional homepage is being curated the location or a shop or where a shop ships to is also not taken into account.
We're not seeing any technical issues related to the treasuries selected for feature on the home page, but I can certainly appreciate the suggestion to feature a diversity of shops. For further discussion I'm going to move this to Ideas. Cheers!

I have definitely noticed a change in the type of treasury chosen. While in the past, more color themes were used, now you are less likely to find a color themed treasury on the FP. Like Trudy, I also noticed fewer treasuries with white backgrounds. It is an interesting (and quite large) shift in the types of treasuries chosen.
I'm all for adding more diversity on the FP, even if that means my all white background pictures aren't chosen as often for treasuries. However, sometimes it seems Etsy is all or nothing. They find a new treasury team they like and all of a sudden there are 10 treasuries in two days by that team. They notice there are a few cool vintage clocks posted and again there are 10 treasuries in two days with a vintage clock in them. None of this speaks to diversity.

Hi Lisa you may not be seeing any technical issues but if sellers have seen an anomaly that was of concern to them to whom should they forward that concern? You know when they see disproportionate geographic anomalies like this in the medical field it is sometimes called a "cancer cluster".... hey I'm from NJ we know these things lol
I think most folks are thrilled to see new fresh shops... I know most curators go to great lengths to seek them out. But one would hope that the parameters by which those fresh shops are found is not contrived in any way.... even if it is inadvertently ( that may be an oxymoron lol but you know what I mean)

Respectfully, I do not see the reality of that last sentence.
