Highlighting Post- Etsy- really?

www.etsy.com/teams/7716/announcements/discuss/11646223/page/1/

Just a thought, would it not be better if the community decided who's post finds helpful instead of ETSY?
Or the OP at least?
I much rather have Etsy taking care of important improvements or glitches
on the site than dedicating it's time/people looking over every single post
in the forums.
Sorry if you don't find this a "positive post" just being honest.
Being that there are a lot of complaints on how long it takes to
get a response via email to help with serious issues, if you
are having extra people to answer community emails to highlight
post I rather seem those people answering and helping people
having problems that matter most.

We definitely want community members to see the really good work that people do in the Etsy Forums when answering one another's questions. The Forums Team doesn't answer Support emails, and Supporters don't highlight threads in the Forums, so we're not delaying anyone's email response time. We aren't the team that handles private shop and transaction issues, and we now have a separate team dedicated to addressing bug reports.

We think that tone is important, too. Certainly not everyone communicates the same way, but I think everyone has it in them to answer questions in a way that makes community members feel glad to be here and a part of the Etsy community. Respect for other community members is paramount (and policy!); how you communicate with other community members within our policies is up to you, but what you need to do to have your posts highlighted is pretty clear.

So, is every thread started going to have a highlighted post?
_____

No, not every thread will have a highlighted post. We try to focus our attention on current topics, questions about new products or issues, etc.

The posts that are highlighted by Etsy, will this mean that the post is correct?

I see a lot of posts that are nice and friendly, but incorrect mildred

_____

Yes. We will do our best to make sure that any highlighted posts contain accurate information.

Thanks for asking, good question!

I have to agree with XolBridal. I would think there is a better use of personnel's time than giving gold stars to posts in the forum. Sounds like kindergarten.
Agreed
it really does sound like grade school. perhaps confirmed it. why not answer those emails with desperate people looking for answers in a timely manner than man posts with stars and check marks. jeez.
On the other hand, when a question gets a lot of replies with different information, admin highlighting a particular answer could indicate which answer is most accurate - and less time-consuming for admin than having to type an answer themselves

And the forum admin are not necessarily the same people who would be answering the emails if they weren't busy in the forums

I couldn't agree more. Or is it more positive to say "I totally agree!"?

It's like Facebook all over, "LIKE" my post please!
Gold stars? Really? LOL.
OMG, I just read that announcement. I don't even know how to respond to that. Wow.
