Very few books left in the library.

If my local library takes all but 100 books off the shelf, I won't have access to much information or stimulation, but it'll be sooo much easier to find the books that are still there.
I wonder why they don't do that?

Because there are so many wonderful books out there, why deny them to everyone???
(Of course there's inter-library loan, so most libraries can get access to any book, but I don't think that's what you mean).

and if they expand the library, which mine just did. then i will find them in the new wing

But what if they don't let you into the new wing without getting a separate card?
And getting that separate card requires you to give your social security number which you may not want to give out?

And for all those books that got shunted off into the new wing - Is the new wing well organized, and is there a system by which to easily find the book you are looking for or do you have to just search hundreds of shelves with books just tossed on them in the hopes of finding a book that just might provide the information you need?

And then, on the off chance you found a book that might suit your purpose, do you have to meet certain criteria to borrow and read it?

And you can read the cover, but you can't read the book unless you wear a shirt stating that you read this particular book, and just keep adding titles of all books you intend to read.

And some of the books are restricted and only the author can tell you if you are allowed to read it.

I guess when the library starts noticing that the visitors dwindle down from thousands to a handful (yes, there really are some that prefer the new 100 book limit cause it's easier to find them), they might start allowing some books in that were restricted before--you know, dirty books.
"Maybe more people will come back if make some allowances."
The few that are left, don't want dirty books in their library, so unless the library brings back all the books, the library will cease to exist.
What a dilemma the library has.
