For me , I think the best way to sell fine arts is through auctions because the buyers set the price as art is very subjective. There are plenty of art selling websites hold auctions. What is your thought?Maybe we could propose this to Etsy management.

Should Etsy setup Auctions?

No, sorry, I'm not keen on this idea.
There are plenty of auction sites out there. If we have the option to auction off goods on Etsy, then what's to stop buyers messaging fixed-price sellers trying to haggle them down on costs?
We get enough of that as it is, and would only de-value handmade items even more.

Why is this thread listed twice?
If you look at a site like ebay, over the years it has degenerated to an online garage sale. The same would happen at etsy.
Actually, if you keep up with what is happening at ebay, they are moving AWAY from doing auctions. Fewer and fewer sellers listed auctions because even ebay, as large as it is, could not provide enough buyers to support the sellers there. Sellers began to move to Buy It Now to protect their prices, and over the last two years, ebay has made a conscious move away from auctions. More and more of their site is now Buy It Now, which makes it like etsy. Auctions are now a very small portion of ebay's total income (and declining), with Paypal fees being first and Buy It Now being second.
