This is a reminder to all sellers!
We'll be highlighting Etsy items with special promotions running through the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend (11/23-11/26). A special promotion may include the following, but is not limited to:
- A discount on an item's price
- A discount on shipping costs
- Adding extra bonuses to an order (such as "two-for-one", or "free gift with purchase")
How do I get involved?
In order to participate, *clearly state the promotion in the item description*, and tag the item with "Black Friday Etsy" AND* "Cyber Monday Etsy". Adding those tags will make that item eligible for promotion for the whole weekend (11/23-11/26). *see note on this below as a follow-up response.
Please only use the tags if you are offering a special promotion through the dates of 11/23-11/26.
Coupon codes are a great way to offer a promotion in your shop. You can read about coupon codes here:

Example Promotions
- If you were to enable a 10% off coupon code for your shop, you would announce it in your item descriptions, such as:
"Use coupon code XYZ123 to receive 10% off your order!"
- If you were to give away an add-on with each order over a certain dollar amount, you could announce it in your item description like this:
"Each sale over $10 will receive a free small gift!"
Thanks!

RESPONSES TO FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS
When exactly is the promotion?
We are planning to promote the sales beginning as early as Thursday evening, Nov 22, up through the morning of Tuesday, Nov 27, but the main focus is 11/23-11/26. "Black Friday Etsy" tags will be highlighted through roughly Sunday morning 11/25, and "Cyber Monday Etsy" tags will be promoted Sunday morning through Tuesday morning, 11/27. All of these times refer to Eastern Standard Time.
Do I really need to use both tags?
In short, no, you can swap the tags out according to the above schedule. However, since it takes a good amount of time to change tags, we think it would be easier for sellers to only update their items once. It's up to you to decide if this is a worthwhile promotion for your shop. Thanks!
