How do you report items that are not handmade?

While browsing tonight I found several mass produced jewelry items made in China. If you look in the feedback for these shops, many buyers have expressed the same thing.

Etsy is supposed to be handmade, vintage or supplies.

For instance, when I clicked browse tonight for statement necklaces the top necklaces being shown to customers are cheap china made statement bubble necklaces and not handmade. These are being shown more than jewelry truly handmade by all the wonderful Etsy shops. What can be done to remove these shops from Etsy? Please help.

Each listing has a link to report the item to Etsy, or you can report the shop to Etsy at the link bar on the left when you are viewing their shop.

there is a blue statement that says report this item or something like that on the bottom towards the midde of the isting. you can pick what is closest to what you are reporting. if an item has enough flags, integrity goes and looks at it. And removes them.

Bottom of the listing on the right side, below payments methods, etc, is a report this item link.

Don't expect the items to be removed immediately.

I just reported several! Some of the shops have more sales than a lot of the handmade sellers on here!

All you can do is report the shops...but don't hold your breath. Although mass-produced most are handmade and for some reason etsy is okay with that.
It's discouraging for those who really handmake their items.

Please DO use that "Report" button, and include as much evidence as you can that the items are mass-produced and mass-marketed.

However, please also remember that Etsy defines hand-assembled (from commercial parts) as handmade. if jewelry is made by stringing together purchased findings, beads, etc. it may be Etsy-legal even though it doesn't "feel" very handmade to us.

I agree, very discouraging. I realize that some things Etsy considers legal, that others may not. But when a very elaborate necklace is $12 and there are 50 available in that shop and 3 others, it should send up a red flag to anyone on Etsy's team. But a couple thousand sales later, still going strong!

I report jewelry resellers every day, although mostly new items being resold as "vintage".

Reporting items listed as handmade is more difficult because Etsy allows sellers associated with factory production to have handmade shops. I would guess there are 100,000+ listings for new factory assembled costume jewelry on Etsy right now.

Thank you! I have reported several shops and find it really sad there are so many on here. All are based in China and have 100 plus available of each item and some are selling for a dollar. All we can do is try I suppose.
