NEVER give your bank info to anyone! Reserve a listing in her name, if she wants you to hold it for her.
NO! NO! NO! You could offer to make the listing "reserved for her." She needs to pay through your etsy store. However your store policies state! Don't give out any personal info to anyone.
Bank transfers are common in other countries, but if you are uncomfortable with that then just tell them to pay via PayPal or DC (if you have it)
Bank transfers are very common in other countries. It is NOT a scam and it is NOT something to panic about, despite what many who do not understand them may say.

That being said, my understanding is that since they are not commonly used in the US that it would be very expensive for you to receive one. There is nothing wrong with POLITELY informing the customer that bank transfers aren't commonly used in your country and you aren't able to accept payment that way.

Just to be safe. Tell her you receive paypal or she can pay with her Credit card. Do not give out your personal info.
Bank transfers are common here but I don't think it would work across different countries as you would be charged to convert the currency.

Please don't panic or think the customer is trying to scam you just explain that PayPal is the ideal solution because of the different currency issue.
Was the buyer in Europe she probably wanted to pay by bank transfer? Which is one of the safest and most come ways to pay for things in Europe. For some resent it is not very well known in US and people there seem to think it is a scam. The details you give to someone to pay you are the same details you give out all the time without thinking about it they are on cheese you give to people on your debit card and you probably give them to utility companies and Phone Company’s when setting up contracts.
by the way if you want to go with transferring money direct to your bank account. You will pay the fees both way
