Must Ship After Christmas?

Have I missed something?

I was just in a shop and on one of their listings, it had a note right above the Add To Cart button that it must ship after Christmas?

Is this some kind of shipping tool we have at our disposal to put a note above the add to cart button?

Sounds like it is one of the test shipping thingies that members of the shipping prototype team have

the team is closed to new members

WoW... That would be a really nice feature to have. I've simply deactivated many of my listings until after Thursday which is the last day I'm able to ship for Christmas.

I also saw listings with "Guaranteed to arrive by Christmas." That's nice to have if you offer that!

Is it a made to order item? I wonder if someone put in a processing time frame that was out to an after Christmas date if the Etsy system is programmed to show such a message.

I briefly thought about using the listing variations to state will ship after Christmas. And then the customer would have to to see it and read it before they could check out. Then I got busy painting and didn't get to it. Since I am shipping out the last of my orders today, maybe I will try making it work now....

what do you think? They don't give you a lot of room for the variation title : (
