I just opened my shop on Etsy and i'm trying to figure out the difference between cicles and favorites. What's the difference and do they both show up on your feed?
Thanks!
Favorites are people who like your items or shop and have 'hearted' you
Followers/ People who add you to their Circle are people who like the things/ shops in your favorites and treasuries and want to see the cool stuff you mark as a favorite
Wow! Guess I really read your question wrong. I guess that is what happens when I post that far after my bedtime!
Favorites are items in your shop that someone choses to bokmark so they can find it later. There are many reasons to do this, one of them is asa wish/shopping list. But that is not the only reason.
Circles/following are people who like your taste/favorites. This is not about what you make or sell, but about what you favorite from other shops. By being in someones circle, they can see what items, shops and treasuries you favorite. When you circle someone, you see what they favorite.
If someone Favorites your shop it gets listed in their Favorites and they can refer back to it if they wish. If someone Circles you they see your favorites in their Activity Feed every time you favorite something.
OMG, I haven't been on Etsy for awhile and I have been looking for my circle button. Thought I was going crazy!!!! in the help search bar, there should be some info for us just starting back explaining the new format.
Is there a limit to how many people you can have in your circle?
I feel like its good etiquette to add people who've 'admired' me to my circle. As well as anyone who 'favorites' something. Its getting a little crazy ...

The limit is 1080. I don't circle people who favorite or circle me. Since it's a shopping tool, I only circle people who favorite things I like. I've found a lot of great stuff that way.
oooooh, see, I didn't even 'get' that. Clearly I'm not using this feature properly! (or at all, really). I will stop adding people now unless I have a good reason. Thanks for explaining!
:~)
