International label printed saturday for shipping monday

I printed an international label on Saturday with the old rates. I used a ship date of Monday. I was charged, I now realize, the rate prior to the 27th. As of tomorrow the package is actually going to be $4 more to ship. I am already eating about $6 of this shipping since I guess I never expect someone in Japan to buy 4 craft books.

Do you think I should add the additional $4 on there in stamps (which I have on hand), or hope it goes through since the Etsy label reflects the correct date?

If you used tomorrow's date, they'll notice the price is wrong and either reject the package, or it will arrive with postage due. You're better off using the stamps.

Thats what I figured. I lost so much in shipping on this order. I just went to that shop and removed all international shipping with a notice for the customers to contact me for a quote.

Definitely put the extra postage on it or it maybe returned to you. You can take it to the post office and have them do it to make sure the postage is correct or you can put on stamps if you're sure what the difference is.

The PO will not know what you paid, and it's not on the label. If you tell them they will add the additional postage for you.

OP - sorry about the shipping loss! Thanks for posting, though - I had the same question about a domestic label I printed Saturday to mail Monday. I think I'll put a stamp on that one, too.

The postage goes by the date you purchased, not the date you mail it. They don't know what rate you paid, only that you purchased a valid label.

Especially as it has the correct date, there's nothing to worry about.

Brandi, you're unbelievable with this stuff. I really appreciated what you said in another thread this week about revenue to your local post office not suffering as a result of shipping from home. I've had that thought many times as my local PO has been threatening to close for a long time now. And you put my mind at ease. thanks.
