Does anyone know how to get etsy to stop depositing money into my bank account and start depositing all funds into my paypal?

I don't think there is any way to do that. Money only goes to your Paypal account if the person pays with Paypal. If they use direct checkout, it goes to your bank account.
Can't be done.
Payments through direct checkout can only be transferred to a bank account. You can then transfer them from your bank account to your PayPal account if you want.
It would be nice if they'll do that in the future. But for now, as others have said, your bank account is the only option.
Etsy is legally obligated to deposit the funds into a bank account and not send them to another merchant processing site.
If you need the funds in your paypal account you can transfer them from your bank account.
Your paypal account is NOT a bank account. It is simply another merchant processing site, just as Etsy's Direct Checkout is.
