Seriously. What is the current mission statement for the company known as Etsy?

It's there for everyone to see....
Our mission is to enable people to make a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers.
Our vision is to build a new economy and present a better choice:
Buy, Sell, and Live Handmade.

Thank you MoonMoth.
I was wondering if it had changed internally and had not been posted.
Especially since so many intentional roadblocks seem to have been put in place that prevent Etsy from maintaining the posted mission statement.

I'd like them to expand on this as well, given the most recent events.
Etsy, please explain...

"We are the collective, resistance is futile."

Sadly, I don't think handmade holds much weight around here anymore. It is really what defined etsy as different from other market places like ebay. As etsy has grown it has lost sight of what made it different and special. Yes, I will keep my shop here for now, because there is no place else to go. For now there are no other handmade sites that can draw traffic like etsy does. But, I know etsy has changed, and many others are getting a sense of that too. The handmade category on etsy is losing credibility. Etsy has to stay focused and on top of its game. It is only a matter of time until another site takes the lead in the handmade market place.

With the exception of the last line, it's somewhat general now. Can be interpreted any number of ways.
Thanks for posting it Moonmoth.

The statement should ideally read...
"Our mission is for individual entrepreneurs and small business owners to make a living independently and to reconnect makers with buyers.
Our vision is to build a new homegrown economy and present a better choice that is set apart from mass production."
