I have been here for a year and a half and wondered why I am not syndicated, what does it take? Just wondering, thanks!

Right, blackgermanshepherd, I'm trying to verify something Sean said in his opening post about free shipping set to 0.00...

When I search my Shop name as advised, I'm also getting listings that were reserved for me by other Etsy shops.

Not cool.

Me too.

my other shops, both less than a year old, are not listed yet :-(

Thanks efixler.

I am not syndicated either after being on etsy for over a year. You answered my question "why not?". So, I'll hang back and wait....it will happen when it happens. Very appreciative of you all keeping us in the loop on these issues :)

Thanks to both Admins for posting this

Sean,

Why are my items showing the word "used" next to the price?

Many of my items are showing this not, all but, many!

I asked earlier...but, you may have missed this. I have not seen this before.

Thanks,
Gwynne

-------

Hi Gwynne,

Items tagged "vintage" or in the Vintage category currently receive the "used" designation on Google Product Search.

The condition attribute is required by Google Product Search and there are three options: new, used and refurbished:

www.google.com/support/merchants/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=160606

Designating vintage items (older than 20 years) as "used" was a recommendation from Google.

Previously this only applied to items in the Vintage category. However our item listing process is changing and designations like "vintage" will eventually become attributes on Etsy rather than categories.

If an item of yours is not more than 20 years old, please do not use the "vintage" tag.

If you did this by mistake and want to have the "used" designation removed from your items on Google Product Search, just remove the vintage tag from those items. By editing listings, updates are automatically sent to Google Product Search.

I can confirm that editing the listings which were showing the wrong picture did force a change on google shopping so that the correct photo is now showing on some of them

All the sold items are still there, however. I am confused by the instructions to deactivate our entire shops to get rid of them, as in the past only Etsy could remove sold items from our feeds. I personally never deactivate my entire shop b/c it takes too long to rearrange the entire thing again afterwards - learned that leasson once the hard way.

I think I will wait until the other bugs, like the incorrect currencies & item statuses, are fixed before I dare deactivate my entire shop anyway. Once is more than enough!

Thank you for your answer re 'vintage' tagging, Sean but it does pose problems. Many of us use vintage parts to our new products and upcycle - part of the Etsy ethos, don't you think?

So naturally we will use one of our secondary tags as 'vintage' is what our buyers will be searching too.

What to do?

Quite a dilemma for myself and others.

Sean, about the free shipping? Does this mean that people with free shipping will have more relevance/preference now? I'm not sure what you meant and why it was significant.

-----

I was just noting that when you perform a search on Google Product Search today, there is checkbox available to filter your results by items with free shipping. This doesn't mean that items with free shipping carry more weight on Google Product Search, just that this is an option that Google knows shoppers care about and thinks is worth surfacing. That could change and shipping options may be surfaced in other ways on Google Product Search in the future.

Shipping will become a required attribute on Google Product Search in September.
