I have not gotten a single view for almost 24 hrs. This is highly unusual. I was wondering if I did something wrong while tweaking my site or maybe there's a glitch? Has anyone noticed a drastic drop in views today and yesterday?

Hi again!
Looking at your titles and descriptions, many of them are almost exactly the same. I think you should mix it up more so that you are found in more searches.
Take a look at the info under h. iii here for more info about why mixing up your search terms is important: www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=6586654
I don't think "trifold" is a great search term, so I would probably not put it at the front of the title. I think this may be reducing your relevancy.
Also, google does not like duplicated content, so be careful!
I think you should experiment a bit with different titles and look in your shop stats to see what works!
So, as an example, for the trifold women's wallets- I'd try some like:
Women's wallet - art nouveau floral - trifold etc etc
Wallet - womens art deco cotton trifold etc etc
Retro womens wallet - black and white floral etc etc
Try to focus on putting the best search terms and best phrase combinations at the front of the listings (you can look at the Search Suggestions by starting to type what you sell in the search bar to get some ideas). Make sure the most important terms are always used in the title, as well as the tags. Use your shop stats to see what are working best. Use the best combos at the front of your listings more frequently (like, if you get a lot of hits from "women's wallet", you might put that at the front more often).
For anyone considering making changes to their listings for SEO- I think it is a good idea to go slowly and use your shop stats to determine what is working and what's not before redoing your entire shop. Please don't feel badly though- this is a *very* common problem that happens to many people when they redo their shop for SEO.
Here is some more info about Relevancy:

Good luck with everything, and let us know if you have questions!

I have very few items, and I hope that my site looks good but I am not a high volume sales person. This is a hobby that makes me happy and I am beginning to wonder why I thought it was so great I made any sales, when people are complaining about, not you guys but other posts about big sales, I wish I had as many sales...Still working on my price range...there
s the value I think something has, the market value and the yard sale value and what I would pay....I look at people who have lots of sales with higher prices and I can't understand how they get these prices...just made a nice sale of $15 teh other day for a thingamajig so I guess I am moving up in teh world, when the world shows an interest in my stuff...thanks etsy for continuing to amuse me!

I am repeating my comments from the discussion on this horrible Etsy decision regarding "RELEVANCY" that we have been forced into:
Don't like it AT ALL! I have tested several of my listings with different tags and title changes and NONE of them show up in a search! I would rather relist with the original "Most Recent" default setting, at least you can see it show up within a few minutes and I get what I pay for in listing fees, "Relevancy" sends it somewhere else like some black hole........I want to be in at least the first three pages of an obvious search when I relist a few times each day and it's not happening now, my sales are super low and slow now. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE change it back, IT IS NOT WORKING, you are hurting us all....I need my Etsy money to send my girls to college!
ETSY: CHANGE IT BACK TO "MOST RECENT" -- You forced us into this situation and IT IS NOT WORKING, we want control over when and where our listings show up and that is how we make MONEY! This really feels like the "spread the wealth" mentality to me, just make everything jumbled up and mix it all together at random then it's all just watered down and everyone is "equal", socialism DOESN'T WORK!
"Change" is not always good, look what it's done to our country! The only "Change" I want now is for Etsy to "Change" it back to "Most Recent" so I can be in control of paying a listing fee when I want a listing to be on top.....so disappointed, this is a supplemental income for our family that is much needed. I am creative enough to make a difference in our income and that has now become broken beyond my control; I don't want to leave Etsy, please don't force me into that :(

@PreppyPeach, I just typed in "bear hat" and you were on the 2nd page in search, and there are TONS of bear hats (I didn't even add the crochet part) so don't despair just yet! You are being seen. :)

I have noticed that there are days when no views and another day just some. I try to advertise my shop and use its address in signatures for my profiles in some forums, so that more people know about it. No sales now but who knows in the future. I just know that have to wait, create new items, something interesting and then will be the result. =)

Quoting Etsy admin "Looking at your titles and descriptions, many of them are almost exactly the same. I think you should mix it up more so that you are found in more searches. "
Then again if all your titles are exactly the same then the search should pull the same for each item. Example.... Chopsticks are chopsticks why have a different description for a....... Chopstick ???
Ever notice how Etsy admin never/rarely say what they are doing doesn't work ??? Its always what we are doing that isn't working.
People quit staring at you stats, stats wont drive people to your shop only you clicking your mouse and typing and driving people to your shop will. Checking your stats will make you wonder where your listing/renewing fees are.

I've heard from some of the admins and videos and labs that sales and views have gone up. I try to be a really positive person and just go with the flow so I went ahead and changed 5 out of my 7 pages. I've had a drastic drop in views, like from 4300 to almost nothing, and no sales at all, even with the changes...and I really studied this! While I didn't like my relisting fees, at least I was making money so it was worth it. The time commitment has consumed my last few days so now I don't really know what to do. I watched the critiques, videos, read articles...maybe someone can help me figure out what to do to get back to the reason I quit my day job.

Also, I read someone say, "What are you doing to promote your shop?" I'm doing everything I did a week ago! Nothing on my end changed and I went from tons of sales to NONE. I don't even have any convos for custom orders, which I usually have every day. I'm really trying here but this isn't working.

Hmmm....read through the post. I'm getting views but no sales lately. The views tell me I'm being found and I'm reluctant to do any changes to much because once I change, etsy will do another change. It seems once sellers get the hang of the changes, it all changes again! That is what is frustrating to me. I am still renewing a couple times a day. I hope it is helping in some way. I also am realizing that I have spent much of August entertaining out of town guests and not much time on my shop.....If I"ve been doing that maybe a lot of other people are also on vacation or entertaining others on vacation. Hopefully, things will pick up. In the meantime, I'm going to apply for a juried craft show for the holidays....that will give me more local exposure and something else to focus on (rather than etsy)! Good luck to us all!

My views are not the problem but my sales seem to have gone from a steady heart beat to cardiac arrest. I have changed my titles and my tags, and I suppose I should wait now. It could just be a sales dip of course.

Last night I literally stayed up ALL night redoing 2 of my listing titles and tags...experimenting with words, word order, synonyms, spaces, symbols, everything i could think of and you know what??? I went from the bottom listing on the last page of listings to #1 in many searches or at least in the top 5 slots of page 1 of many page searches... so this does work...but you have to do the work...and it sucks because i'm tired and cranky, but i'm also proud of what i've done...so I guess if your business means enough to you, you'll do what it takes...nothing in this world remains the same...it always changes- your choice is whether to sink or swim
